Western Adelaide Workforce Development Group, consisting of Gratis Recruitment, Open Colleges School of Health and the City of Charles Sturt have partnered with Aged & Disability Employers to recruit, orientate, train and provide traineeship opportunities for job seekers.
If you are keen to gain your Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015) qualification, while you undertake paid work [and training] with an industry leading RTO then read on!
A traineeship presents a unique opportunity for you to kick-start a long term, rewarding career in the Aged Care, or Disability Support Sectors.
You will be engaged on a part-time employment contract and will be placed with an Aged or Disability provider (you choose your pathway). Open Colleges School of Health, a renowned RTO, will facilitate and deliver your training through a blend of online, in-class and on the job training to complete Certificate III in Individual Support.
You will attend regular training classes (and be paid for attendance) and undertake paid work shifts as a Trainee Support Worker with the employer.
On successful completion of all classes and practical requirements, you are awarded your nationally recognised qualification and are ready for a career as a Support Worker!
This is the first step to determine your suitability. And for you to ask any questions you may have.
If successful in moving forward after the phone screen you will be asked to come in for a group interview. Here we will match you to the employer’s requirements.
For those who are successful after the group interview. Pre-employment checks will include conducting National Police Checks & DCSI checks. Training eligibility checks will also happen, including a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment. You may also be required to complete a Functional Capacity Test (subject to the employer’s requirement).
The Gratis program prepares candidates for suitability into Aged and/or Disability, and preparation for commencement of the full Certificate III in Individual Support.
Once you have successfully completed the 3-day program you will begin 4 units from Certificate III in Individual Support with Open Colleges.
Upon completion of the 4 Units, you will then be offered a 30-hour placement with one of our employers. This is who you will be doing your traineeship with.
After successfully completing the 30 hours of placement you will be invited to begin your traineeship.
